• I tried using the Godan keyboard, which is a derivative of flick input, as one of the text input methods on my smartphone.

  • Until now, I was using QWERTY.

  • The reason for trying it out was because I switched to the Pixel 4.

  • Compared to QWERTY:

    • I have to switch my mindset when typing in English.
    • Since it uses the Roman alphabet, it’s easy for me because I’m already familiar with it.
    • It takes more time to use flick input compared to pressing buttons.
  • Compared to traditional flick input:

    • I don’t have to worry about lowercase letters or voiced sounds.
  • Learning experience:

    • I was able to type fairly well in just two days.
    • Flick input still takes some time for me.
      • I felt that even if I mastered it, my typing speed wouldn’t change much because I’m too used to QWERTY.
      • So, I switched back to QWERTY.
