Problem of Applying to Swarthmore ED2

• Conclusion: I’m not really attracted to the research environment, so maybe I should quit (blu3mo).

• Concerns

  • Undergrad Research opportunities
    • There seem to be opportunities in the CS field, but I can’t find any lab/faculty specializing in HCI.
    • The problem is whether I will still be interested in HCI a year from now.
    • Also, I can’t find any Undergrad research opportunities in Cog Sci.

    • Well, this is what it’s like, the tough part of attending a liberal arts college.
    • It seems like the CS Program focuses more on theoretical aspects.

    • If I get into the University of Tokyo/SFC, I can probably endure this.
  • After graduation
    • Many people seem to pursue Grad programs at MIT or similar institutions.
    • The PhD rate is high.
