• Pair Programming: Writing Version of Essay

  • Premise: Explanation of pair programming: https://wa3.i-3-i.info/word14134.html

    • The person who has the topic for the essay acts as the navigator, while someone else acts as the driver.
    • In this article, the “person who moves their hands” is referred to as the driver, and the “person who gives instructions” is commonly known as the navigator.
  • The person with the essay topic acts as the navigator and instructs the driver.

  • The navigator explains the content they want to write in words and gives instructions on what to write.

  • The driver then translates this into actual written text.

    • They write the essay.
    • They also consider suggestions from the navigator on expressions and other aspects.
      • Having two minds working on thinking about expressions and such can improve the quality.
  • This seems quite good. (blu3mo)(blu3mo)

  • Points that I think are good:

    • The process of the navigator explaining to the driver seems valuable.
      • It requires clear verbalization before writing.
        • If there are any ambiguities, the driver can ask for clarification.
      • This process can be done in a conversational format.
        • (i.e., the driver can be a sounding board)
    • It prevents slacking off.
      • I think this is also quite significant.
    • It seems less likely to get stuck in thinking and not making progress.
      • If two people are discussing it together.
  • Challenges:

    • Trust may be necessary.
      • Especially if the navigator does not trust the driver, it may be difficult to disclose certain things.
      • Also, there may be a psychological barrier to freely expressing opinions to each other.
    • The driver may not have many benefits.
      • They are just writing someone else’s essay.
      • What if they do this mutually?
        • If pair essay writing can produce progress at more than twice the speed, then it might be worth it.
          • I think this is quite possible (in my case, I often get stuck and can’t make progress).
    • One’s own Voice in expression might diminish.
      • Well, that’s to be expected.
