• This weekend, I’m going to Disneyland Sea (blu3mo).

  • It feels like it’s been 8 years since I last went. I’m really looking forward to it.

  • I’m very interested in how they create a fictional world with a sense of immersion in the physical world.

    • It’s interesting to compare the official map with Google Maps and see that there are spaces that are not acknowledged in the official map (blu3mo)(blu3mo)(blu3mo).

        • The distortion of the river’s shape is obvious just by looking at it.
      • They use various techniques such as perspective, hiding behind volcanoes, and distorting space to conceal the existence of certain areas.
        • I especially like how they distort space (blu3mo)(blu3mo).
          • It gives me a sense of Redirected Walking.
            • It’s actually like Redirected Walking itself.
            • The difference lies in the source of spatial perception, whether it’s the entire field of view or map information.
          • I really like how they pretend to be a realistic map (blu3mo)(blu3mo)(blu3mo).
          • The structure of placing attractions in a donut shape around the volcano makes it easy to achieve this.

    • It’s also interesting how the official map depicts Land and Sea seamlessly connected without any gaps.
      • In reality, there is quite a large backstage area.
  • Sea has a world setting called Background Story (BGS) in each theme port, and it is meticulously created, so it’s interesting to look at it from a trivia perspective (axokxi).

  • I went on June 11, 2022 (blu3mo).

    • It was a lot of fun, and I thought it was amazing that they have built such a position.
    • I found various aspects interesting and moving, such as how they create the world and the experience of dark rides.
      • The movement of the animatronics, like Sindbad, is so lifelike even though there aren’t many joints. It really showcases Disney’s strength.
        • It’s apparently called “Audio-Animatronics.”
      • The way the music transitions gradually in loops in Sindbad is intriguing because it’s not a simple one-dimensional timeline like “➡️➡️➡️➡️,” but more like ”🔄🔄🔄🔄.”
      • I had many things I wanted to write about, so I’ll add them as I remember (blu3mo).
    • As a lesson for future visits, I realized that it would be enjoyable only if I’m with a group with whom I can have fun conversations and share the waiting time.
      • I had a great time this time, so it was good.
      • “A group with good relationships (to be defined)” and “a group with whom you can enjoy sharing the waiting time” don’t seem to be equivalent. The former is just one condition of the latter, perhaps?
        • For example, if it’s “people with good relationships but not very talkative + myself (also not the type to talk a lot),” then each individual would spend their waiting time on their own experiences.
          • If silence doesn’t bother the relationship, this would be fine, but there is also a sense of wasted opportunity if we consider sharing experiences in that space as one of the values.
