Proposal for Visual Media

• Why do you want to do it?

  • I enjoyed making videos for Globe.
  • I want to improve my public speaking skills.
  • I want to have a hobby that is a little different from technology.
  • It seems fun to engage in the PDCA cycle of social media.

• Can you do it?

  • I idealize physics engine YouTubers.
  • Although there is currently none, I want to come up with an entertainment idea with high demand.

• Ideas brainstorming

  • Introduction of HCI research

    • Something like a video version of https://twitter.com/shiropen2.
    • There are already many precedents (like Mashable?).
    • Is it ethically acceptable to use other people’s research?

  • Explanation of IB content

    • There are already many people doing it in English, so it’s hard to compete.
    • There may be some demand for it in Japanese, but the market is too small if it’s only for Japanese IB students.
    • It might be worth considering if a new direction can be thought of.

  • Travel Vlog-like content

    • I want to do this when traveling with JR’s Seishun 18 Ticket.
    • I don’t think there is much demand, but it seems fun.

  • Creating video content based on discussions in IB classes

    • Involving others (classmates) as well.
    • If done well, there might be some demand.
    • I still don’t have a clear image of it.

  • Producing my grandfather as a gadget YouTuber

    • The phrase ”70s gadget YouTuber” is interesting.
    • It’s unclear if it will actually be funny.
    • Intent
      • I want to give my grandfather, who is getting bored, a new hobby.
      • He buys a lot of drones and osmo, so he should like gadgets.
        • (He says they often break because he doesn’t know how to use them due to his aging mind)
      • He also tries hard to post on Facebook, so he should enjoy sharing.
        • (His posts often don’t make sense due to his aging mind)
