• Physics IA Reflection

  • What I did: How does the angle of slope affect the loss of the sliding object’s energy due to frictional force?

  • It seems similar to the report for the Physics Olympiad

  • I might try using LaTeX

    • I want to give it a try
    • Maybe on Overleaf
  • Well, it seems difficult, so maybe not

    • It doesn’t seem to have many benefits anyway
  • Waves seem interesting

    • However, I feel like my knowledge is still too shallow
    • It seems like I can only do a superficial IA at a high school level
  • I like the physics world that goes hand in hand with the world of mathematics

    • Although mathematics is created as a model for physics
    • For example, imaginary numbers appear in physics theoretically
      • I want to find non-trivial connections and go “ohhh”
  • Something like the conservation of energy, non-trivial but beautiful, might be good

  • Systems that involve finding constants

    • g (acceleration due to gravity)
      • Like bubbles
      • By using the equation GPE=mgh, I can derive g by finding a way to measure GPE
    • 0K (absolute zero)
      • Creating two proportional lines that intersect
      • It seems moderately complex and interesting
    • Evaluating the results is easy
  • There was a discussion about how focusing too much on the theme can make it unnecessarily difficult
