• This is a lightning talk given by someone who has been involved in Programming Education at Life is Tech during iOSDC2020.
    • Programming becomes fun when it stops being like magic (well, obviously).
    • So, what should we do?
      • Try doing it together, try doing it on your own
      • Explain it as many times as needed
      • Teach them to face errors and bugs
    • However, being able to write code doesn’t mean you can create an app.
      • It seems that many apps created by LiT were rejected due to lack of functionality.
      • So,
        • Make them aware of what makes an app an app
        • Teach them about the differences between web and app development
        • Have them read the HIG
        • Emphasize that programming is just a tool for problem-solving
        • Use a litmus test: Make them explain what the purpose of their app is.
