Permissions for editing documents and files

In the era when physical paper documents were managed, possessing the paper meant having the editing permission.

However, as documents started to be managed as digital information, it became possible to edit even the copies of the documents. Therefore, possession no longer equaled editing permission.
- What I found interesting here is the expression used in Google Classroom to “submit” or “return” documents.
- By submitting, the editing permission is transferred from oneself to the teacher, resulting in the loss of editing permission.
- By returning, the editing permission is returned.
- This made me think that the editing permission might be materialized like Paper.

Rather than materializing the permission, it seems that the permission has become immaterial, like something that cannot be duplicated.
