• When we focus on the range of control over our consciousness, we realize how fragile our sense of “self” can be.

    • For example, we can control the movement of a computer mouse cursor, and it always obeys our commands.
      • However, if the mouse breaks, the cursor will no longer move, and our commands may not be followed.
    • Similarly, we cannot predict when a part of our own body may betray us.
  • I thought about this while reading about “mind-body dualism” in the Philosophical terms dictionary.

    • It seems like a concept that can be greatly expanded upon with modern technology.
