  • He was disliked for his non-denominational approach, even among fellow Christians.
  • He was also disliked by the Japanese people due to the blasphemy incident.
    • He was also opposed to pacifism (anti-Russo-Japanese War).

  • Introduced Japan’s religious aspect as Bushido.
