Proposals to solve the problem of mirroring only a part of Scrapbox to public:

  • Proposed solution:

    • Use scrapbox-duplicator as before.
    • Implement a mechanism to not transfer pages with the private.icon.
    • Run the mirroring process every three hours.
      • Can this interval be set in Heroku? (takker)
      • You can use Heroku Scheduler for this (this part is manual).
  • On May 5, 2021, I made this change (blu3mo)(blu3mo).

  • I changed the system to transfer all pages except those with the private.icon.

  • As a result, most pages are now public https://t.co/xmyeVac0Kt

  • (I’m afraid there might be pages that I forgot to mark as private..)

  • Currently,

    • 10% of pages I don’t want to make public.
    • 80% of pages that can go either way.
      • If I use the criterion of “do I need to make it private?”, they would be considered public (takker).
    • 10% of pages I actively want to make public.
    • So, I’m unsure how to manage them.
  • If I make all pages public except the 10% marked as private, the pages I want to make public and the pages that can go either way would be mixed on /blu3mo-public (blu3mo).

    • However, I feel that this level of passive sharing suits me better.
      • (nishio)さん, (/motoso/基素)さん, and (/rashitamemo/rashita)さん’s projects are like that (takker).
        • They are used as personal memos.
    • It seems more suitable for me to operate /blu3mo-public with a blog-like mindset (blu3mo).
      • Scrapbox is designed as a place that eliminates all features that stimulate the desire for approval [/shokai/承認欲求の刺激につながる機能を全て排除する].
  • Another advantage is being able to change the articles pinned for myself and for others.

  • /nishio/Scrapboxのprivate→public転送についてfrom(nishio)

    • I thought it would be fine to make all pages public except those with the private.icon (blu3mo).

Benefits:

Drawbacks:

  • I don’t particularly feel any.

    • There haven’t been any instances of being criticized after being read.
  • However, I feel like I might not notice the drawbacks.

    • For example, even if ideas that were buried are stolen, I might not notice.
    • For example, even if someone forms a negative image of me after reading, I might not notice.
      • However, since I expose everything on Scrapbox, there’s nothing I can do if people dislike it.
      • It might even reduce mismatches (takker).
  • I can recognize the benefits/drawbacks that directly affect me after being read, but I can’t notice the ones that don’t directly affect me.
