    • 12/14 is limited.
      • Main Stage Presentation
      • Technical Papers
      • Technical Communications
    • It increases from 12/15.
    • I will participate on 12/15 and 17 (blu3mo).
  • 12/15

    • Presentation sessions
      • From 9:00 to 10:00 on 12/15, there will be a session called “How to Navigate SIGGRAPH Asia”, where Mr. Yasuo Ando, the SIGGRAPH Tokyo chair, will explain the highlights in Japanese.

        • I should attend this (blu3mo).
      • 10:00 - 10:55 Technical Papers 7: Scene Synthesis and Navigation

      • It's a presentation on the problem of pathfinding in 3D space and generating scenes (3D space) using programming.

      • 11:00 - 11:55 Technical Papers 8: Natural Phenomena

      • It's about simulating natural phenomena, such as the spread of paint and simulation of trees.

        • I’m quite interested in this (blu3mo).
      • 11:00 - 12:30 Research and Development of Creating Video Contents for Innovative Display Systems (clashes with the previous one!!!)

      • It's a talk about video production using non-conventional display systems. It might be easy to understand even without specialized knowledge.

        • I’m interested in this too, it’s a shame it clashes with the previous one.
      • 12:00 - 12:55 Technical Papers: 09 Neural Rendering (clashes with the previous one!!)

      • It's about using machine learning for rendering. It's a topic that falls between machine learning and computer graphics.

      • I highly recommend it among the paper presentations. It's interesting to see how fast this field is evolving.

        • This one also caught my attention. The one about expression dimensions was interesting. Is there an approach to represent some parts of the formulas with neural networks?
      • 13:00 - 13:55 Technical Papers: 10 Audio and Visual Displays

      • It's about strange displays. There are many talks about physical devices.

      • Since it's about physical things, it might be enjoyable even without specialized knowledge.

        • This one also seems interesting.
      • 13:00 - 14:00 Unity Anime Toolbox: The key to creating studio quality animation in a real-time engine (clashes with the previous one!!)

      • It's a talk about creating theater-level animation in real-time.

        • I’m a bit curious about this.
      • During the period from 12/14 to 17, there will be a “Digging into the Technical Papers (in Japanese)” session from 14:30 to 17:30 every day. It will provide a Japanese explanation of technical papers, including what was impressive about the research, behind-the-scenes stories, past research, and Q&A sessions.

        • This is good (blu3mo).
      • 15:00 - 16:00 Featured Sessions: Blade Runner: Black Lotus

      • It's about the CG of the movie Blade Runner.

      • 16:00 - 17:00 Cyberdream: An Interactive Rave Music Visualization in Virtual Reality

      • It's about visualizing music in VR.

        • I’m a bit interested in this. (rickshinmi) would probably like it.
    • Exhibition sessions
      • From 12/15 to 17, there will be an exhibition of Emerging Technologies. It’s been a while since they held it in a format where you can actually experience various experimental interactive technologies at the venue. It seems that not everything will be exhibited onsite, but 13 out of 19 will be available for actual experience.

      • https://twitter.com/ken1_taka/status/1470306470810243072- The Computer Animation Festival - Electronic Theater will be held daily from 12/14-17 (with varying times each day). It will feature a selection of CG films that are approximately 2 hours long. There will be a variety of films, including visually stunning works using the latest technology and films with compelling stories.

Miscellaneous Notes:

  • Kenichi Takahashi (@ken1_taka) mentions that SIGGRAPH Asia will be held onsite at the Tokyo International Forum starting tomorrow. While experiencing the full access pass is the best way to enjoy SIGGRAPH, he also introduces some highlights of the event that can be learned and enjoyed even with the 4000 yen venue experience pass.

  • On the final day (12/17) from 10:30-12:30, there will be a session called Real-Time Live! Unlike videos, this session focuses on demonstrating real-time demos. There may be many demos shown through live video feeds from overseas, but the live experience unique to real-time execution should be conveyed.

  • There is a student access pass available for the venue. It seems that this pass can only be purchased on the day of the event at the venue.

  • It seems that there is something like this scholarship available. It would be great if it coincided with the same timing.
