• From the discussion in the Kickoff Meeting
  • I thought about the concept of “Sense of Time Sharing” in communication (blu3mo) (for kineto)
    • Summary:
      • The feeling of “sharing time” is a one-sided perception from the receiver’s side.
      • It is felt when experiencing something in common (such as visuals or reality) with the information sender (vicarious experience).
        • If we perceive it this way, there is fundamentally no significant difference between face-to-face conversations, Zoom meetings, or comments on Nico Nico Douga.
      • The difference lies only in the delay from the moment of transmission to reception, whether it is 1ms, 300ms, or 1 year.
        • In an environment where the amount of delay is within an acceptable range, interactive communication can take place (e.g., face-to-face conversations, Zoom meetings).

Time does not exist

Note: My understanding of physics is limited, so the following content may be incorrect.

(Not confident)

  • In Chapter 1, it explains how the concept of time collapsed in Physics.
    • Breaking down the elements of “time” one by one.

      • Time has no direction.

        • In Physics, the only relevance of the positive or negative value of Δt is in Thermodynamics.
          • In other phenomena (e.g., laws of motion), the direction of time is irrelevant.
        • The law of increasing Entropy
          • ΔS ≧ 0
        • However, this value called entropy can only be used when viewing things ambiguously or statistically.
        • When things are observed at the micro level, the concept of entropy cannot be applied (if my understanding is correct).
          • Is it because heat (vibration) is also relative when observed at the micro level? (speculation) (blu3mo)
        • Therefore, at the micro level, the direction of time is irrelevant. The distinction between past and future disappears.
          • The distinction between cause and effect cannot be made.
      • “Now” does not exist.

        • The question of what is happening “now” on a distant star is meaningless.
          • It is explained in the book through a paradox.
        • The extent to which “now” can be shared depends on how time is quantized.
          • If it is in milliseconds, a few kilometers can be considered the same time.
          • If it is in 0.1-second increments, the entire Earth becomes one unit of time.
        • Time can be represented by a cone.
          • For more details, refer to the book (in case you have forgotten the content).

  • Time in society
    • #time does not exist /#sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind
      • Before the advent of fast transportation like trains, there was no standard time.
      • It didn’t matter if 12:00 was different depending on the location; the time within the city was unified by the clock tower.

  • Theory of time

  • The future of communication

    • In a future where various barriers disappear, such as the language barrier with automatic translation and the distance barrier with the internet, it feels like the only barrier that will remain is the barrier of time.
    • Will kineto shine in that future?
  • Is the essence of time Synchronization?
