Q. Why do we learn subjects in school/compulsory education that we will not use in the future?
- This seems to be one possible answer.

It may sound obvious, but personally, I had a realization like “ohh” about it.

In the first place, we won’t know what we like or dislike until we try various things.
- It’s related to the formation of identity.
- Even deciding between humanities and sciences, we won’t know which one suits us better unless we study both math and language (obviously).

If I don’t write an IA in IB History, I won’t realize that “I like historical knowledge, but I don’t enjoy the research process of history.”

- As of now, I think “IA was tough but fun” and “I don’t dislike the methodology of historical study and I’m actually interested in it.”
- Maybe I just thought this way because I was exhausted right after writing the IA?
- On the contrary, am I romanticizing my memories now?
